Imprint, liability and what this site is not
Required by German law, and worth reading anyway — because the most important sentence on this site is that it cannot tell you what to do in your own case.
This is not legal advice
Say it plainly, because it matters more than anything else on this page.
This site is free public information. It is not legal advice, immigration advice, financial advice or careers advice. Reading it, or writing to us, does not create a client relationship, an advisory relationship, a contract, or any duty of care towards you. We are not lawyers, not an agency, not a consultancy and not an intermediary, and we are paid nothing by anyone for what is written here.
German law recognises this distinction directly. Under § 675 Abs. 2 BGB, a person who gives advice or a recommendation is not liable for damage arising from following it, unless liability arises from a contract, from tort, or from some other statutory provision. There is no contract between us and you, and none is offered.
What that means in practice. Immigration law changes. Authorities in different German cities apply the same rule differently, and are entitled to. An answer that is correct in Frankfurt may not be correct in Rostock, and an answer that was correct in August 2026 may not be correct when you read it.
So: every claim here carries the source it came from and the date it was checked. Check it against that source before you act on it. For anything that would be expensive or irreversible to get wrong — a marriage date, a resignation, a loan, a flight — take advice from someone qualified who knows your actual circumstances.

This site is operated by a private individual. It is not a registered company, it is not entered in a commercial register, it has no VAT identification number, and it exercises no regulated profession. Those lines of § 5 DDG therefore do not apply.
Haftung für Inhalte — Liability for content
We write this site carefully and source every factual claim. We cannot guarantee that any of it is complete, accurate or current, and we do not warrant that it is.
We are not obliged to monitor third-party information transmitted or stored here, or to investigate circumstances indicating unlawful activity. Obligations to remove or block the use of information under general law remain unaffected. Liability in that respect begins only from the point at which a concrete infringement becomes known. If you find something on this site that is wrong, tell us and we will correct or remove it promptly. We would rather be corrected than be right.
Haftung für Links — Liability for external links
This site links to external websites, mostly those of German authorities, because we would rather send you to the primary source than ask you to trust us. We have no control over the content of those sites and take no responsibility for it. They were checked for unlawful content when the link was added, and none was apparent. Permanent monitoring of linked pages is not reasonable without concrete evidence of an infringement. If we are told of one, the link will be removed.
Please note the reverse as well: no external site is endorsed by us, and no agency, consultancy or institute anywhere may claim to be recommended, approved, accredited or partnered with this site. If someone tells you they are, that is false, and it is worth asking what else they have told you.
Urheberrecht — Copyright
Text on this site is written by its operator. German statutory texts quoted here are official works and free of copyright under § 5 UrhG. Statements quoted from authorities — the German Embassy in Kathmandu, the Bundesagentur für Arbeit and others — are quoted as short excerpts, attributed, for the purpose of reporting what those authorities actually said.
Photographs, where used, are used under the licence of the library they came from, and are credited on the page.
Corrections
The correction record for this site is public. Where we have been wrong — and we have been, more than once — the error, who caught it and what replaced it is written down rather than quietly deleted.
If something here is wrong, out of date, or has cost you money because you relied on it, we want to know. Write to clockw1se-nepal@yahoo.com.
You do not need to be polite about it, and you do not need to prove anything. If you tell us where you saw something different — a page, a letter, an official who told you otherwise — we will check it and either correct the page or explain why it stands.
A note on how this page was written. It was drafted from the statutes it cites and from published guidance, not by a lawyer. It is a careful, conventional notice of the kind used by German information sites, and it is very much better than nothing. It is not a substitute for having a lawyer look at it, and it does not make anyone immune from being sued — no wording does.
